2019 RE-UNION DINNER
This year's annual re-union dinner took place as scheduled in the Dartmouth Guildhall on Friday the 30th August. Over one hundred members and guests attended the joint mens and ladies section event.
MC Rob Waycott opened proceedings by announcing the arrival of distinguished guests...........
Father Langley then said the grace, before the assembled sat down to their meal, supplied and served, by the good services of The Royal Castle Hotel staff.
Once the meal was completed our MC then asked all to be upstanding for 'The Loyal Toast', this was followed by our President Ron Lambden welcoming our guests and thanking the members of both associations for all their hard work and commitment throughout the year. Next to address the members was the Ladies section President Mrs Sandra Lumley also echoing her thanks and gratitude for the support of the ladies section members.
Mayor Councillor Graham Webb, replied to both of the president's speeches by saying how much the town of Dartmouth has benefited by having the support and commitment of both sections of the Old Dartmothians, and expressed his best wishes for the coming year.
Mrs Debbie Morris then read out the cards and messages from those who unfortunately had been unable to attend this year's event. followed by a roll call from all those present.
Ron Lambden then stated the thanks on behalf of the associations, for the staff and meal supplied by The Royal Castle Hotel, and also to the staff of the Guildhall.
The raffle draw was then conducted by Barrie & Elaine French, £410.00 was raised from the 17 prizes kindly donated by association members.
