FLAG WAVING LINKS WITH THE USA - D-DAY REMEMBERANCE - MAY 2016
Close ties between Britain and the USA were celebrated in flag fluttering style on the Dartmouth Embankment.
The Old Dartmothians flew the colours of both nationalities on the waterfront memorial to welcome a delegation from Dartmouth, Massachusetts.
The volunteers also planted new floral displays and spread decorative chipping stones at the D-Day memorial to those servicemen involved in the Normandy landings.
A two minutes silence will be observed in a short D-Day service organised by the Old Darts at the memorial at 11am on Monday, June 6, involving the Britannia Royal Naval College, the Royal Naval Association and Royal British Legion.
